Design For The Real World - Victor Papanek
I first heard about this book via Mike Monteiro. I'm increasingly interested in the role of design in culture and society - especially in how we got to where we are now, and how we might be able to move forward. I can't say I blanket subscribe to every sentence of this book, but Papanek puts forward a clear argument for the responsibility of design - in terms of past failings, current controversies, and future progress.
